I can't access some of the channels that I've subscribed to

If channels that you subscribe to appear in red in the programming guide, try the following:

  1. Reset your receiver
    On most models, simply hold the POWER button on the front of your receiver for 5 to 8 seconds and then allow it to reset the satellite signal.

I can't access a channel on my Bell Satellite TV

This can happen when a receiver has been unplugged or inactive for a period of time. Follow these steps to reset your receiver and restore your Bell Satellite TV channels.

For models: 3100, 4100, 3200, 5100, 5200, 5800, 5900, 6100, 6141, 9200 and 9242

  1. Press and hold POWER on your Bell Satellite TV receiver until the green light turns off. Then release.
  2. Wait for instructions on your screen. You should see Attention screen 015.
  3. Check to see the channels are back.
For models 1000, 2700, 3700, 3500, 4500, 4700
  1. Find your receiver's SmartCard on the front of the Bell Satellite TV receiver. Depending on your model, it should be located on the far left and either exposed or behind a plastic cover panel.
  2. Remove the smart card from your receiver and wait until you see the System Information Screen.
  3. Re-insert the smart card. Make sure the bar code is facing down and to the right. An error message will appear on your Bell Satellite TV screen if the smart card is not inserted properly. The green power light on the receiver will blink once and then stay on permanently.
  4. Wait until the signal acquisition process is complete. You should see Attention screen 015 on your TV screen.
  5. Check if the channels are back.

Some channels are missing from my electronic programming guide (EPG)

Some channels may not be visible if you've selected a Favourites List other than the one named All Chan.

  1. Press GUIDE repeatedly on your Bell Satellite TV remote control to cycle through your Favourites Lists.
  2. 2. Choose All Chan to list all channels.

My Bell Satellite TV program has picture but no sound

If you have picture but no sound, try the following:

  • Adjust the volume level on your TV or audio equipment.
  • Press the MUTE on your Bell Satellite TV receiver remote, TV remote and other audio equipment.
  • Unplug your receiver from the electrical outlet, wait 30 seconds and then plug the receiver back in.
  • Check all the audio connectors and cables from the receiver to the TV or sound system.
  • Check any additional TV speakers or sound system speakers to make sure they are functioning properly.

I'm getting a different channel than entered or purchased channels are skipped while scanning up or down

When the channel number has been incorrectly entered or is invalid, the closest possible channel will be displayed. Retry your channel selection or press RECALL on the remote to return to previous channel.

If a Favourites List other than All Chan is active, the receiver will skip channels not on active list. Select All Chan as an active Favourites List.

The sporting event I want to watch is blacked out

Certain sporting events may be blacked out because Bell Satellite TV does not have authorization to broadcast the game in your area. In most cases, this is due to certain restrictions set forth by the sports leagues or by holders of the broadcast rights. As a broadcaster, Bell Satellite TV is obligated to abide by their rules.

  1. Turn on you television and your Bell Satellite TV receiver.
  2. Press GUIDE on your Bell Satellite TV remote.
  3. Scroll up and down through the menu using the Page arrow buttons, or move show by show with the blue Arrow buttons.
  4. Highlight the blacked out channel and press INFO on the remote.
If the blacked out event is available on another channel, it will be indicated in the program description.

How to use my Bell Satellite TV programming guide

With Bell Satellite TV, you can use programming guides on your TV to see what's playing.

On your TV

  1. Press the GUIDE button on your remote control.
  2. Scroll up and down through the menu using PAGE arrow buttons, or move show by show with the blue Arrow buttons.
  3. Press SELECT when you've found the program you want to watch, or press Cancel to exit the channel guide.

How am I billed for my Bell Satellite TV programming?

Bell Satellite TV bills for programming services in advance, on a monthly basis. You are billed based on your programming package, plus any Pay-per-view events you purchase during the month.

You can expect:

  1. An initial bill covering a service period of one month starting from the date of activation. For example, if you activated your service on July 22nd, you would be billed for the service period of July 22nd to August 21st.
  2. A second bill approximately 15 days after the date of activation for the next service period. This date becomes your regular billing date. For example, your billing date might be August 7th for the service period of August 22nd to September 21st.
  3. All subsequent bills will be issued on the same day of the month. In the example above, the regular bill date would be the 7th of every month for the same service period (the 22nd of one month to the 21st of the next).

What is time shifting?

Time shifting gives you the convenience of watching a show at different times of the day. Because of the different time zones across Canada, programs can often start at up to five different times every day. For example, you could watch a show at 8 pm in Toronto that is scheduled to play at 5 pm on a Vancouver station.

How to ensure I receive HD programming on all my receivers.

If you subscribe to the HD programming packages you will only get a high definition broadcast on any of your HD receivers that are connected to HD TVs.

If you have additional SD receivers, they will only provide a standard, digital broadcast. If you'd like to experience HD programming on your additional receivers, you will need to upgrade to a HD receiver and ensure they are connected to HD TVs.
